Event Overview :
The 13th Bangalore India Bio held under the theme ' Biotech for a better tomorrow' concluded on February 6th on a high and encouraging note*. The event brought together global leaders from the life sciences sector to meet, attend lively panel discussions and Round table conferences. Issues like India' s Challenges in being the Global Biotech Hub, Biosimilars Guidelines, Regenerative medicine, Bioinformatics and Agribiotechnology to herald India' s second Green revolution; were some of the hot topics of discussion over the 3-day conference.
The Event consisted of 22 Sessions with 110 Speakers, 878 Delegates, 372 B2B meetings and participation of over 500 0rganisations.
The international conference was attended by delegates from more than 20 countries and 8 Indian States. Some of the international participants were from Scotland, USA (Georgia), Canada (Alberta) & Australia (Victoria)as well as Germany, UAE, France, UK, Spain, Israel, Mexico, Japan, Malaysia and Singapore.
The event featured signing of 2 MOUs with KBITs(Govt. of Karnataka), one by Scottish Development International (SDI), an international economic development arm of the Scottish Government and the other by the Georgia Department of Economic Development, Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
Three industry reports released - (a) "Indian Biotechnology: The roadmap to the Next Decade and beyond by ABLE (b) "Opportunities for Fermentation Industry & Biotechnology" by ABLE and (C) Report on "Funding Your Science Idea" of Atharva Life Sciences Consulting.
The International Tradeshow saw participation of 100 Exhibitors from various verticals of Life Sciences Industry like biopharmaceuticals, bio-suppliers, bio-informatics, bio-medical devices and attracted 3000 plus business visitors.
Bangalore India Bio was organized by the Department of Information Technology, Biotechnology and Science & Technology, Government of Karnataka, Vision Group on Biotechnology, MM Activ Sci-Tech Communications.
